We have reviewed the guidance from NHS England and we are making some adjustments to our day to day operation.
If you have visited the surgery this week you will have noticed that the doors through to the waiting room are locked and the receptionist is letting you in once you have been asked a couple of questions about your current health. It is not our intention to appear unwelcoming but we feel these precautions are necessary in order to reduce footfall into the practice to protect both patients and staff.
We have operated a “telephone first” approach to GP appointments since 2016 and this process will not change, government guidelines are now encouraging all GP practices to use this approach.
Our nurse practitioners, nurses and phlebotomists continue to see patients face to face as necessary and we are screening all patients to ensure that they are unlikely to be affected by the coronavirus.
You may be informed that some routine nurse procedures are not currently available; this is purely a temporary measure to limit the number of people coming into the practice.
Our aim is, as always, to give the best possible care to all of our patients.
