Dispensary FAQs

Phone calls to our dispensary have understandably increased but it is becoming unmanageable.

We thought it might help to answer the most frequently asked questions as follows:

Q:        Can someone collect a prescription on my behalf?

A:         Yes. The person collecting for you just needs to know your basic details –     full  name, address and date of birth.

You DO NOT need to let us know.

We only require ID when collecting controlled drugs.

Q:        I’m self-isolating, how can I get a delivery, can I transfer to the chemist?

A:         Please avoid changing pharmacy at this time. Services will quickly become overwhelmed if this is the case.

In the first instance please use any support available to you; friend, neighbour, relative.

If you need a delivery and DO NOT have support please contact Concern Wadebridge on 01208 812392.

Q:        Can I order 3 months prescriptions to cover self-isolation?

A:         No. The government have said that this will cause unnecessary strain on the supply chain and could lead to significant stock shortages.

Please continue to order monthly as usual.

Any early requests will be rejected.

Q:        How do I order my prescription?

A:         Please use the practice website or Patient Access on-line services.

If you collect your medication from the chemist please contact your USUAL chemist to arrange ordering on your behalf.

To avoid unnecessary phone calls please only order by phone if absolutely necessary.

Q:        I have an “automatic prescription”, can I have it early?

A:         No. We are struggling to meet the current deadlines. Collecting early leads to more pressure on the system.

Please stick to the date of collection given with your previous prescription.

Thank you for your help.
